Owen Tippett scored three times and Ian Scott made 21 saves as Canada White downed Russia 6-2 on Saturday to win the under-17 World Hockey Challenge.

Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Matthew Struthers and Gabe Vilardi also scored for Canada White while Ian Mitchell tacked on two assists.

Ivan Chekhovich and Andrei Svechnikov supplied the offence for Russia, which got a 25-save outing from Maxim Zhukov.

Canada White went 2 for 5 on the power play while Russia failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

Earlier, Fabian Zetterlund had a pair of goals as Sweden blanked Canada Red 3-0 in the third-place game.

Erik Brannstrom also found the back of the net for Sweden as Arvid Soderblom turned away 29 shots for the shutout.

Michael DiPietro kicked out 17-of-20 shots for Canada Red.
