An elderly man charged with killing his wife earlier this year has been found dead in his Campbell River, B.C., home.
The BC Coroners Service confirmed the identity of 85-year-old Konstanty Butkiewicz on Monday.
He was found by a friend on Oct. 30, but investigators believe he may have died up to two days before his body was discovered.
Butkiewicz was facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of his wife, 71-year-old Caroline Surrett who died in February.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate the death, but they say foul play has been ruled out.
