Anheuser-Busch and the NFL have agreed to a multiyear renewal of Bud Light as the official beer sponsor of the league.

The deal announced Wednesday will expand Bud Light's presence across league events, serving as the presenting sponsor of "Thursday Night Football" and a sponsor of the NFL draft and NFL kickoff game to open the regular season.

As part of the new agreement, Bud Light will gain additional marketing rights in the U.S. and use NFL marks internationally in promotional materials.

The brand also will use current NFL game footage across digital and social channels. Previously, Bud Light used footage of past seasons.

Renie Anderson, the NFL's senior vice-president of sponsorship and partnership management, says the league and Anheuser-Busch will continue the Good Sport program that promotes responsible alcohol consumption.
