The Canadian Border Services Agency is expected to issue a preliminary ruling by March 5 on alleged dumping of subsidized solar panels by China, following a decision Tuesday by the Canadian International Trade Tribunal.
The tribunal ruled there was a "reasonable indication that the dumping and subsidizing of photovoltaic modules and laminates from the People's Republic of China have caused injury or are threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry."
The tribunal said the case was prompted by an investigation by the CBSA, which will now continue its inquiry.
The case could lead to anti-dumping duties levied by Canada against the Chinese manufacturers.
