Carnival Cruise Line gift cards are now available for purchase on land.

The cards once were only available aboard one of the ships in the Doral, Florida-based cruise line's fleet. The company tells The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/1ASx2a5) the prepaid cards soon will be available in more than 9,000 stores nationwide.

The cards are available in amounts ranging from $25 up to $1,000. They can be used to pay for a cruise or for purchases on board.

Carnival has partnered with Blackhawk Network to make the cards available in Giant Eagle, Kroger and Safeway stores and other retailers later this month. The cards will be available in Publix stores early next year.
