Ever since a crabbing boat was converted into a floating strip club off the shore of an Alaska island, it's been beset by legal tangles over safety rules and liquor laws. Now there are allegations it's been dumping human waste into a harbour.

Prosecutors say Darren Byler and Kimberly Riedel-Byler piped raw sewage from bathrooms aboard the 94-foot "Wild Alaskan" into the Kodiak harbour instead of taking the waste 3 miles offshore.

The Bylers also are accused of telling the Coast Guard they were properly disposing of the waste.

A federal grand jury has indicted them on three counts.

Darren Byler was arrested last week and pleaded not guilty. He said Tuesday there was plenty of room for waste in an onboard holding tank.

Riedel-Byler is expected to be arrested soon.
