U.S. stock indexes are moving between slight gains and losses in midday trading as a four-day rally in the price of oil cools off.

Disney jumped 8 per cent Wednesday after the entertainment giant reported higher profits. That helped pull the Dow Jones industrial average up.

The Dow was up 51 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 17,719 as of 11:45 a.m. Eastern time.

The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index was flat at 2,049, and the Nasdaq composite was up four, or 0.1 per cent, at 4,731.

The price of oil slumped 5 per cent, ending a four-day rally. That helped pull energy stocks lower.

General Motors rose 5 per cent after reporting solid profits despite a number of recalls.

Bond prices fell. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note rose to 1.82 per cent.
