The Education Department says the latest high school graduation rate has reached 81 per cent.
That's for the 2012-2013 school year, and it's an improvement from the year before.
But it still means that about 1 out 5 students is leaving high school without a diploma.
The highest rate was in Iowa — 90 per cent.
The lowest state rate was 69 per cent in Oregon. Even lower was the District of Columbia at 62 per cent.
