A 23-year old Manitoba woman has been charged after a baby was found in a stroller in the middle of a street.

Police in Brandon say the seven-month-old girl was found at about 3 a.m. today.

The mother was found a few blocks away, and allegedly told officers that she was high on pills and forgot that her daughter was with her.

The baby was taken to hospital before being turned over to Child and Family Services.

The woman has been released from custody and is to appear in court on July 31 on a charge of abandoning a child.
