Three teenage girls from Steinbach, Man., have been taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle as they were walking down an area highway.
Kleefeld Deputy Fire Chief Armin Dueck says the girls, all under the age of 18, were walking on the wrong side of the road when they were hit by a car.
Dueck says one girl was airlifted to hospital in Winnipeg with life-threatening injuries.
A second girl was taken by ground ambulance to hospital in Winnipeg with serious injuries.
The third girl, who received only minor injuries, was taken to hospital in Steinbach by ground ambulance.
They were hit about 6 p.m. on Monday on Highway 206 in the rural municipality of Hanover.
RCMP say there was one uninjured occupant in the motor vehicle, adding that alcohol is not considered a factor in the incident.
