The Manitoba and federal governments have announced funding for two new sewage treatment plants north of Winnipeg.
One project is a new and larger treatment plant for the City of Selkirk, which will be big enough to also serve St Andrews and the Lower Fort Garry national historic site.
The second plant will be in the Rural Municipality of Gimli.
Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister says the two projects will help protect water quality in the Red River and Lake Winnipeg.
The infrastructure will cost a total of $53.2 million and will be cost-shared by the federal, provincial and municipal governments.
