A Winnipeg man has been charged with mischief after police say a bomb threat was made from a pay phone.

Police say a caller on Friday morning told them a business in the city's downtown would be "bombed out" on the weekend.

They say he then hung up.

Police say they were able to track down a suspect based on descriptions from witnesses who said they saw a man using the phone.

Michael Randolph Parks, 64, was detained by police.

Businesses were told about the threat, but no suspicious packages were found.
