A man arrested after an attack on a Winnipeg woman faces a murder charge now that she has died of her injuries.

Selena Rose Keeper, who is 20, was found on a city street on Thursday by officers and emergency crews.

Police say Keeper and a man had gone to a residence on Flora Avenue, where she was assaulted in the upper body.

Witnesses tried to intervene, but the assault continued and Keeper was left unconscious outside.

Ray William Everett, who is 20, is charged with second-degree murder.
