A funding drive for the father of a baby born shortly after her mother was fatally struck by a car had collected about $30,000 as of Thursday evening.
Marie-Pier Gagne, 27, was 40 weeks pregnant when she was hit by a Quebec City driver on Wednesday morning.
She died but her baby survived and was still in hospital.
Gagne's cousin, Emilie Marceau, started the funding drive and said all the money collected will go to the baby's father for food and other expenses.
"It's a nice way to pay homage to Marie-Pier," Marceau said. "She would have done the same for us."
Marceau said she'll keep the funding drive going for another few days and will keep people updated on Facebook.
She said she was blown away by the generosity of those who gave money.
