UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will help wrap up a three-day international summit today in Toronto to combat child and maternal health issues in poor countries.
The summit has heard much praise for Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his government's work on the file since making it a signature initiative at the 2010 G8 meeting in Muskoka.
But the opposition parties in Ottawa have been critical of the Conservative government's pointed approach to funding women's health programs, especially when it comes to those promoting safe abortions.
Harper will moderate a panel discussion this morning before wrapping up the event.

— Canadian Armed Forces members and civilian employees of the Department of National Defence will take part in the annual Walk/Run in Red event to mark Canadian Forces Day.
— The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation releases its 2014 first quarter financial report.
— And it's all business for Statistics Canada as the agency releases the Canadian economic accounts for the first quarter, gross domestic product by industry for March and industrial product and raw materials price indexes for April.
