Three people face charges after police say mail screeners intercepted a shipment of anabolic steroids addressed to a northern Ontario home.

Police say their investigation began after the Canada Border Services Agency in September found a package of suspected anabolic steroids allegedly being imported through a Vancouver mail centre to a home in Swastika, in Kirkland Lake.

They say they executed a "controlled delivery" of the package and general warrant at the home last month and that anabolic steroids, morphine and marijuana were seized.

Swastika resident Julie Cole, 38, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, while fellow resident Sandy Tremblay, 29, faces one count of the same charge.

They're both due in court Nov. 27.

Forty-year-old Donald Cole, of St. Catharines, faces one count of importation of anabolic steroids and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 18.
