Ottawa Police have arrested one person following a morning fire in a townhouse complex in Orleans.

Dispatch received multiple 911 calls just before 7:40 a.m. reporting fire and smoke in a home.

Officials say "multiple fire victims" were rescued by firefighters.

The fire spread into the roof of the multi-unit building, and the call was upgraded to a three-alarm fire.

Police say there was an "incident" in one unit prior to the fire starting, and the blaze is being treated as suspicious.

Fire Prevention Officer Marc Messier wrote on Twitter that three residents were injured. One firefighter was also injured.
