Police say a 35-year-old man is facing weapons charges after a gun was brandished during an incident in downtown Barrie, Ont.

Police say a 24-year-old Midhurst, Ont., woman — who police earlier said had appeared to be under 18 — was approached by a man with a gun around noon on Saturday, and ordered into a vehicle.

Investigators say the woman is safe and with family members.

A Barrie man and a 36-year-old Toronto woman were arrested and a pellet gun was seized.

Police say the woman was determined not to be involved and released, while the man has been charged with pointing a firearm and weapons dangerous and is to appear in court on Monday.
