Police say a British Columbia man is dead after a collision in northern Ontario.
Ontario Provincial Police say the crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday when a car and an SUV collided on Highway 17, about an hour outside of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
They say the driver of the car, James Butchers, 34, of Victoria, B.C., was pronounced dead at the scene.
OPP say the woman driving the SUV, a 64-year-old from Sault Ste Marie, Ont., was extricated from the vehicle and taken to hospital.
They say the woman is in critical condition, but she has been stabilized.
