Canada's junior ringette team won gold at the world championships on Saturday, defeating Finland 9-6 in Game 2 of their best-of-three series.
Sydney Nosal had a hat trick and three assists for the Canadian team. Alana Lesperance and Britney Snowdon scored two goals apiece and Marie-Pier Blanchard and Jenny Snowdon also scored.
"It is such a surreal experience," said Nosal. "We battled and worked hard and we regrouped at the half. We played our style of game and came together as a team."
Also Saturday, the Canadian senior team claimed silver after falling 11-5 in Game 2 of their final against Finland.
The defending world champion Finns claimed their sixth consecutive world title.
Shaundra Bruvall scored a hat trick for Canada and Kelsey Youldon and Dailyn Bell rounded out the offence.
