Police say charges are pending after a tractor-trailer flipped into a ditch and spilled milk on Highway 401 in Lakeshore, Ont.

They say the westbound vehicle lost control around 6 a.m. Saturday and flipped in the north ditch.

The vehicle was demolished and lost a load of milk on the shoulder of the highway.

The westbound lanes were immediately closed as police investigated.

A 25-year-old Mississauga man was seriously injured and underwent surgery.

Police say charges will be laid.
