Police say two young drivers are facing charges after an off-duty officer spotted two pickup trucks allegedly racing on a street in Kingston, Ont.

They say the officer, who was on his way home, called police and a patrol in the area clocked the large off-road trucks at 126 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.

Investigators say traffic was light when the incident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

A 21-year-old from Kingston and a 17-year-old from Verona, Ont., are charged with stunt driving.

Their driver's licences were seized for one week and the vehicles were towed and impounded for one week.
