An 85-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a taxi in a north-end Toronto neighbourhood on Monday evening.
Paramedics said the woman was taken to hospital in critical condition following the crash at about 5 p.m. (near Eglinton Ave. and Weston Road).
Police say the taxi driver remained at the scene, but there was no immediate word on possible charges.
Beck Taxi issued a statement after the crash offering condolences and a pledge to do everything it can to assist the investigation.
