A Good Samaritan is being credited for rescuing a woman from the cold, fast moving waters of the Ottawa River.
The dramatic incident happened at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday when officials say the woman's car plunged into the water at the end of an access road (off Thomas A. Dolan Road in the Dunrobin Shore area).
A man who lives nearby sprang into action after hearing the loud noise and came to the woman's aid, pulling her from the chilly water.
The quick-thinking man kept the woman warm until emergency crews arrived and she was assessed by paramedics.
There were no serious injuries.
Ottawa police are investigating.
