Provincial police say a Hamilton man is dead after a vehicle struck the back of a transport truck early today.

Police say witnesses reported the vehicle was travelling erratically before the collision on the QEW (near Fifty Road).

Joshua Merry, 35, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced dead.

Three other vehicles sustained minor damage when they hit debris while trying to avoid the collision.

Police are continuing to investigate.
