Hamilton police have charged a 35-year-old man with first degree murder in the death of his father.

Police say officers who responded to a call at 7 p.m. on Thursday found the body of 66-year-old Antonio Robles.

They say the man's son, Jonathan Robles, had called 911 and then surrendered to police.

Jonathan Robles appeared in a Hamilton court on Friday where he was charged with first degree murder.

Police say a post mortem examination has revealed Antonio Robles's cause of death was the result of stab wounds.

The investigation is continuing, however the police are not seeking additional suspects.
