Police say a Brampton, Ont., man has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 15 years in the killing of his 73-year-old roommate.

They say James Martineau, 32, pleaded guilty in April to second-degree murder in the death of Ivan Newton Davison.

Davison's body was found on the side of a road in King Township on Boxing Day 2011.

An autopsy found his death was caused by blunt-force trauma.

Martineau was arrested four days later.

Two others — Wendy Martineau, 52, and Rian McLean, 33 — were convicted two years ago of being accessories after the fact.
