A London, Ont., man has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the beating and stabbing death of his uncle.

The verdict against 39-year-old Shane Wood was returned Monday night after less than six hours of deliberation by a jury.

Wood was also found guilty of arson and causing an indignity to a body in connection with the September 2013 death of his 50-year-old uncle, Paul Curry.

Curry's body was found inside his home by emergency officials. The home had been set on fire shortly after Curry's death.

Wood will be sentenced on Dec. 8. (AM980)
