Police say a 78-year-old man faces two charges after a 17-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted on a Toronto bus.

Toronto police say the alleged incident happened at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, when the man sat beside the girl on the bus.

Police allege the man sexually assaulted the girl, and then "preformed an indecent act."

They say the man was arrested after the bus pulled into a station.

The man is to appear in court Friday charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent act.

Investigators say they believe the accused may be responsible for another sexual assault on the same bus line in May 2016.
