Two people are facing multiple charges following an RCMP and Canada Border Services Agency investigation in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., earlier this month.
Police say a car with Alberta plates coming from the U.S. was sent for secondary inspection after the occupants told CBSA officials that they made a wrong turn and wished to return to Canada.
The Mounties say the pair were arrested after a search resulted in the seizure of drug paraphernalia, oxycodone tablets and suspected stolen identification documents.
Kimberly Jo Rose Bowser, 25, faces charges that include possession of a controlled substance, unlawfully possessing an identity document, and personation.
Todd Donald Deschamps, 23, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawfully possessing an identity document, and obstructing a peace officer.
Bowser and Deschamps are to appear in court in Sault Ste. Marie later this month.
