A man is facing a drunk-driving charge after a vehicle struck a man and his son at a bus shelter in Vaughan, Ont.

York region police say the father and his eight-year-old son were inside the shelter (near Dufferin and Centre streets) when the crash occurred around 8 p.m. Friday.

Police say the man suffered a broken leg and possible skull fracture, while the boy was treated for minor injuries and released from hospital.

A 45-year-old man is facing a charge of impaired operation causing bodily harm.

His name has not been released and he's due in court Jan. 16.
