A 38-year-old man is facing numerous charges after police say an altercation between two drivers led to a hit and run at a provincial park in Prince Edward County.

It's alleged that a vehicle struck the back of another vehicle at Sandbanks Park on Wednesday and that both drivers got out of their vehicles and began to argue.

Police say as one of the drivers tried to call police, the other got back in his car and drove off, hitting but not injuring the other motorist.

A suspect was arrested shortly afterwards while driving on a rural road.

Jamus Kanellos of Quinte West faces six charges, including impaired driving, uttering threats, assault with a weapon and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
