A 27-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a man in the northeastern Ontario community of Haileybury.

Provincial police say the body of 42-year-old Christopher (Cripsy) Parsons was found inside his apartment on June 4, 2013.

Charged is Mathew James Hayes, formerly of the nearby town of Cobalt.

Anyone with information in the case is urged to call the Temiskaming OPP or Crime Stoppers.
