Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was shot and killed in a car in downtown Toronto overnight.
Police say the 25-year-old man was shot at about 2 a.m.
Police say that he tried to drive away, but he crashed his car into a building after about 850 metres, and later died of his injuries in hospital.
Det.-Sgt. Hank Idsinga says it is somewhat unusual for someone to drive so far after suffering a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Investigators say the victim was known to police, and they won't release his name until his family has been properly notified.
No arrests have been made and police say they believe there was a single gunman, but that he may have had accomplices.
