Toronto police say a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with a shooting outside a strip club has turned himself in.

Police say Mohamud Yousef Omar, 24, faces eight charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and several weapons offences.

The charges stem from a shooting outside the House of Lancaster strip club in December.

Police say a man was waiting for a ride in the parking lot when he was shot in the head and calf.

He was taken to hospital and underwent multiple surgeries.
