A 22-year-old Markham, Ont., man is charged following a slow-speed pursuit on Highway 26 east of Owen Sound, Ont.
Provincial police say an officer attempted to stop a vehicle travelling well below the 80 km/h speed limit for a sobriety check in Meaford on Wednesday night.
The officer, operating a fully marked cruiser, activated the cruiser's roof lights and followed the vehicle for about five kilometres at speeds under 40 km/h before the driver pulled over.
Police say the driver was not impaired.
OPP say he told the officer that he believed he didn't have to stop his vehicle until he heard the cruiser's siren.
The driver is charged with failure to stop on the right for an emergency vehicle.
