Faculty members at colleges across Ontario are set to vote on a tentative agreement reached with the College Employer Council.

A spokesman for the Ontario Public Service Employees Union -- which represents more than 12,000 full-time and partial-load faculty members across the province -- says it was a productive round of negotiations.

In a statement issued at the start of negotiations in June, the union noted that college workers were concerned about the effect of years of underfunding on post-secondary education.

The details of the tentative agreement reached on Friday will be released after a ratification vote in late September.

The current contract is set to expire on Sunday.
