A 70-year-old Ottawa-area man is scheduled to appear in court Thursday on child pornography charges.

Ottawa police say an investigation began in early 2015 after it was discovered that child porn images were allegedly being uploaded to the Internet via Google through a local computer IP address.

Further investigation revealed that a username associated to the accused had allegedly been uploading child porn images and videos in 2012 and 2013 to an undercover police officer using a publicly available peer-to-peer network.

Using a search warrant, police seized several computers and external digital media devices from an address in the Orleans area east of Ottawa.

Glen Boswell of Orleans was subsequently charged with two counts of possessing child pornography, one count of making child porn available and one count of breaching a probation order.
