An Ottawa man is facing several charges after police say child pornography was uploaded to Facebook.
Ottawa police say their Internet Child Exploitation unit was contacted last month by the RCMP with allegations that a city resident had uploaded child porn using his Facebook account.
They say a search warrant was executed at a city home on Wednesday and that several computers and external digital devices were seized and forensically analyzed.
Michael Hughes, 35, is charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, one count of distributing child pornography and one count of accessing child pornography.
Police say Facebook has a "safety team" of professionally trained staff who focus on preventing the sharing of child pornography.
