Ottawa police say they have charged two people in connection with a shooting last week that injured a sleeping man.

Police were called to a home (on Innes Road) just after midnight on Jan. 15th after a man, who was asleep, was shot in the leg as a bullet passed through the wall.

Police said the victim was not targeted, but it was unclear if the shooting was random or had targeted someone else.

On Wednesday, police seized a .22 calibre handgun during a search of two homes and later charged two of three people who were arrested.

Both 46-year-old Christine Miner and an underage suspect who cannot be identified face several firearms related offences. (CFRA)
