Ottawa police are seeking a suspect who posed as a police officer and robbed elderly victims at least a half dozen times since Dec. 10.
Police say the man approached elderly citizens and identified himself verbally as a police officer or said things that would lead them to believe he was one.
The man, who was not wearing a uniform, stole money from the victims and fled.
Police want to hear from anyone who encounters someone who claims to be a cop but cannot provide proper police identification.
The suspect is described as a well-dressed white male between 50 and 60 years old who is six feet tall with a medium build and white wavy hair.
The incidents occurred on Rideau St. (between Cumberland and Charlotte).
