Toronto police say the John Deere backhoe they were looking for in connection with a suspected murder case was found on Thursday in Niagara Falls.

The case involves 22-year old Shawn Kapadia of Mississauga, who police believe was murdered in Toronto earlier this month.

Kapadia was last seen in Toronto on July 5, and his car was found several days later at a house in Wainfleet, about 40 kilometres southwest of Niagara Falls.

Investigators said a John Deere backhoe was seen at the Wainfleet home from July 10 to 12 with a large chunk of concrete in its front bucket.

They said they suspected the machine may have been used to dispose of Kapadia's body, which could have been entombed in the concrete.

Though they've located the backhoe, there's been no sign of the concrete block.

No arrests have been made in the case.
