Toronto police are investigating two stabbings — one of them fatal — that occurred in the city's east end within a span of 24 hours.
The details of the two cases are eerily similar.
Both happened during brawls near the Scarborough Town Centre, and in both cases the victims were teenage boys.
The first happened Friday night at a bus stop outside the shopping centre.
Police say 15-year-old Kareem Deerr was stabbed during a fight involving two groups of young people and was later pronounced dead in hospital.
Then on Saturday night, police say a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the stomach during a fight in the same general area that reportedly involved about 20 people.
Investigators say the teen suffered a serious wound but is expected to recover.
No arrests have been made in either case.
