Police in Windsor, Ont., say they're seeking DNA samples from anyone who knew a 31-year-old pregnant woman found slain in her home last month following a fire.

Police say Cassandra Kaake was murdered and forensic evidence from the crime scene has been sent to Toronto for analysis.

Sgt. Matt D'Asti says detectives want friends, family and neighbours to voluntarily submit DNA samples in case there is a DNA hit on the evidence collected.

Meanwhile, 20 detectives are canvassing the neighbourhood to see if there is any information to move the investigation forward.

Kaake — who was seven months pregnant — died of blood loss caused by severe trauma to her body.
