York Region police have confirmed that a body found in a frozen pond in Markham, just north of Toronto, is that of 25-year-old Taneesha Brown.
The body was located late Saturday morning while police were conducting a ground search for Brown, who disappeared on Jan. 12. after telling family members she was going for a walk to get some fresh air.
Duty Inspector Robert Bentham said an autopsy would be performed to establish cause of death, but added that police did not consider the case to be suspicious.
