Provincial police say there have been a couple of reports of cougar sightings in the Huntsville, Ont., area.

Police say the first reported sighting was at around 5:30 a.m. on Highway 11 south of Huntsville.

The second reported sighting came about five hours later on rail tracks near the Huntsville Fire Department.

Police say an extensive search of the area was done by the OPP and on-duty firefighters but they were unable to locate the big cat.

Residents are being advised to exercise caution when outdoors and call police if they see the animal.

The Ministry of Natural Resources were made of the cougar seen in the central Ontario town.
