Toronto police have arrested and charged the mother of a young boy who was found wandering naked in the city's west end.
Const. Jenniferjit Sidhu says one of the charges is abandoning a child under 10.
Sidhu says the boy was found outside by a neighbour but was supposed to be at home.
She says it appears the neighbour managed to find the child "just in enough time."
She says the four-year-old boy, who police initially said was three, was taken to hospital as a precaution.
This comes just a day after three-year-old Elijah Marsh died after spending hours in the bitter cold wearing only a shirt, a diaper and boots.
Police said the boy disappeared from a north-end apartment of a family member overnight.
Temperatures had fallen to about -20 C. He was found about six hours later.
