Police say a woman has been charged with second-degree murder for the stabbing death of her sister in Toronto.

Det. Murray Barnes says the victim — who isn't being identified — was visiting her sister from Vietnam.

The two women were staying on the main floor of a home, where the victim was found with multiple stab wounds to her torso on Friday.

She later died in hospital and 52-year-old Hoa Nguyen has been charged.

Barnes says a kitchen knife was found beside the victim and police are investigating.

It is Toronto's 31st homicide case of 2015. (680 News)
