Halton regional police are searching for a man who allegedly defrauded an elderly woman of $150,000.
Police say the Burlington, Ont., woman was contacted by "unknown persons" she believed to be family members, asking for a loan.
It's alleged that arrangements were made for the woman to be picked up by someone claiming to be a taxi driver, who drove her to her financial institution and helped her transfer the money.
Police say the victim made three such trips to her bank during June and July.
Investigators describe the suspect as a white male between the ages of 40 and 50, with a large build and long, straight hair.
They say on all occasions, the suspect wore knee-length shorts, a T-shirt, a black zip-up vest and white runners.
