Police in the community of Lasalle have released the identity of a cyclist killed in a hit-and-run collision last week, and are appealing to the public for help in identifying the driver of an SUV that fled the scene.

Police say a cyclist was struck by a mid-to-full-size SUV on Thursday at about 9:45 p.m.

Paramedics took the cyclist to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The cyclist has been identified as 38-year-old Kevin Emisch of nearby Windsor.

Police say the driver of the SUV failed to remain at the scene of the collision and offered no assistance to Emisch.

Anyone with information on the collision is asked to contact Lasalle Police.
